We are not insurers and do not require IRDAI registration for advisory and grievance-redressal work. We are, however, empanelled to file before the IRDAI Ombudsman and have an active membership with the Insurance Brokers Association of India.
The IRDAI Ombudsman is a free, quasi-judicial body that hears policyholder disputes up to ₹50 lakhs. We escalate to the Ombudsman when the insurer has not resolved a complaint within 30 days of receiving it.
Section 45 prevents an insurer from repudiating a life claim more than three years after the policy was issued, except on grounds of fraud. If your life claim was denied on a policy older than three years, it is often recoverable.
